The International
School of Economics (ISET) at Tbilisi State University held the final presentation
and panel discussion of the project "Strengthening Entrepreneurial Training in the
Formal TVET System” implemented within the small grants scheme of Millennium
Challenge Account – Georgia and funded by the US Millennium Challenge Corporation.
The project as a whole sought to bring life
(and real-life Georgian business cases) to entrepreneurship classrooms at
Georgian VET institutions. TVET teachers were paired with ISET coaches in the
development and teaching of eight original case studies telling the stories of
young Georgian entrepreneurs, which they will use in the process of teaching
the modules. Teaching of new business
cases was piloted in partner colleges (college "Gantiadi” (Gori), "Prestige”
(Telavi) and "Gldani Professional Training Center”) with 120 students.
The results of the current
project and one of the original business cases developed within the scope of the project were discussed at the meeting. The event was concluded with an expert panel discussion
with the participation of MCC Resident country director, ISWD team leader,
representatives of the Ministry of Education and TVET teachers of how to
mainstream business case-based teaching of entrepreneurship in the TVET system.
